Last updated 21 October 2026EaseMyPease privacy policy
This policy is short because we keep almost nothing. EaseMyPease is made by Kuldeepak Katwal (“we”, “us”). It applies to the EaseMyPease Mac app, the EaseMyPease iPhone app and keyboard, and this website.
Your voice
When you dictate, the audio is sent over an encrypted connection to our transcription service, converted to text in memory, returned to your Mac, and discarded. We do not store your audio or your transcripts, and we do not use either to train anything.
Transcription runs on infrastructure we operate, which passes the audio to a speech-recognition provider that converts it, returns it and keeps no copy.
Your transcripts and history
The app keeps your dictation history, learned vocabulary, and settings locally on your Mac. They never leave it. Delete them any time from the app.
The iPhone app and keyboard
EaseMyPease for iPhone is an app plus a custom keyboard. The app uses the microphone only during a session you start. When you tap Speak, the recording is uploaded over an encrypted connection to the EaseMyPease server. The server sends it to Groq, an AI service that turns speech into text and cleans it up, and the text comes back to your phone. Groq acts as our processor. EaseMyPease does not keep the recording after it has been turned into text.
Words in your Dictionary are sent along with the recording so names and terms are recognised better. Your dictation history is stored only on your iPhone.
Your permission. Before your first dictation the app asks whether you agree to send your voice to Groq. If you say no, voice dictation does not run. You can withdraw that permission at any time in the app under Settings > Privacy.
What the keyboard does not do. The keyboard does not send what you type anywhere. Typed keystrokes never leave your phone.
Why the keyboard asks for Full Access. It needs Full Access only for Speak. With it, the keyboard can talk to the EaseMyPease app through a shared app group on your device. Nothing else uses it.
Your account
The Mac and iPhone apps share one account. To run your trial and subscription we keep the minimum: your sign-in email, or your Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple details (managed by Supabase, our authentication provider), when your trial started, whether your subscription is active, and how many seconds of audio your account has used (a number, not the audio and not the text).
Payments
Mac purchases are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle collects and processes your payment details under Paddle’s privacy policy; we never see your card number.
iPhone purchases are Apple In-App Purchases. Apple handles the payment and your payment details under its own privacy policy.
What we don’t do
- No analytics or tracking in the app or on this site.
- No ads, no data sales, no third-party marketing.
- No training AI models on your voice or your words.
Deleting everything
Email support@easemypease.com (also on the support page) and we will delete your account and its records within 30 days. Local data you can delete yourself by removing the app.
In the iPhone app you can delete your account yourself: Settings > Account > Delete account. This deletes the account for both the iPhone and Mac apps. It does not cancel an App Store subscription. You cancel that in iPhone Settings (see the support page).
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will note it in the app’s changelog and on this page, with the date above.
