Open it (macOS 15 or later)

  1. Open the downloaded EaseMyPease.dmg.
  2. Drag EaseMyPease into your Applications folder.
  3. Open it from Applications. The first launch takes a moment while macOS checks the app.

Say yes to three permissions

macOS asks for three approvals before an app is allowed to type for you. EaseMyPease walks you through each one on first launch, and it cannot dictate until all three are on:

  1. Microphone, so it can hear you.
  2. Accessibility, so it can put the text at your cursor.
  3. Input Monitoring, so it can notice the hotkey while you are in another app.

The app restarts itself after you grant Accessibility. That is expected: macOS only tells an app about that permission when it next launches.

If dictation is not working later, especially after an update, it is almost always one of these three. The support page has the fix for each.

Start dictating in any app

Create an account in the app and your 3-day free trial starts. No card is needed. Hold your dictation key, speak, release, and the text lands wherever your cursor already is.

After the trial you subscribe from inside the app. The trial does not charge you on its own.
